We took a couple pictures with the family we had here. I'm realizing now that I didn't get a picture of Raegen in her dress with Dave and our dad's. Kinda bummed about that, but it's too late now.
My family minus two spouses, a sister and her whole family.
Dave's family, minus two sisters, four brothers, and their families.
Two of my sisters and me! Sorry you weren't here Michelle!!! Maybe next time!
We decided that we didn't want our families to have to come here more than once, so we waited a while to bless Raegen. That way we could do it at the same time as Cole's baptism. I think one day it will be a special thing that they shared something special together!!!
Cole requested that Grandpa McKenna baptize him!
Raegen wasn't very happy!
Afterwards we had refreshments. Dave's parents make chocachoo's and take them to everything! Porter took one, shoved the whole thing in his mouth, chewed it a little, and then walked back over to the serving plate and spit it back out!!! I was so mad at him! Dave removed the chewed piece (eating it of course, gross!), I wiped the plate, and then removed all of the pieces in the surrounding area even though there was no contact! The only thing to do at that point was eat them all, right?!
Saturday was Cole's 8th Birthday! It was extra special for him. We had 15 extra guests to share his day with! We went to see Hotel Transylvania with my dad, my sister Jen, her two girls, and my sister Heather's three kids. It was in 3-D and it was my dad's first experience at one of those! My mom and my sister stayed back at the hotel because my sister had a migraine. I had battled one all day too, it wasn't much fun for either of us. After the movie we came home, played outside, and got ready for dinner. During that time, Dave's sister Bethany, her family, and Dave's parents all showed up! He was surrounded by people and loved every minute of the attention!!! I usually make cakes, but with all that was going on I decided this year he was getting a store bought cake so we had that for dessert!
I guess I need to make the camera more user friendly so that when I'm not taking the pictures, it works a little easier! :)
The boys are in different schools this year and I think that is helping a little bit. I'm pretty sure they were ready to inflict bodily harm on each other by the time summer was over!
Each year Dave's work has a family day at Kennywood. It was on a Saturday in August and the day we went was SO busy! We were smart and took all the kids with us....... Porter learned how to undo the stroller seatbelt and would exit the stroller while we were moving. He would book it as fast as he could so that was pretty fun amidst the huge crowds! Somehow we didn't lose anyone and we managed to survive for almost nine hours! Last year Porter was too small for any rides so this year he enjoyed the kid rides. He rotated between the airplanes, the helicopters, and the motorcycles. Couldn't tell HE'S a boy could ya?! He also got to ride on an old style car. Next year he will be tall enough to go on a few rides with the big boys too. Dave, Braxton, and Cole went on a few things together. I think the only thing I did was bumper cars. I haven't done even that in years so I felt like a kid again! Last year when we went we didn't plan very well so we didn't get to get treats or really experience all the fun of going to an amusement park, so this year I prepared better! We let the boys choose games to play AND we got some treats! Can't wait until next year when we get to do it all over again!!! It might be a little easier without Raegen so little. The only good thing about lines that day was I could often start and finish feeding Raegen before they were all out of line!
