Our Exciting Day!

So.....Today was a pretty busy day! It started with a homemade breakfast by me that included a menu of peaches, strawberries, and raspberries arranged so perfectly on each plate. French toast, homemade syrup, and yes, even fresh bacon from the butcher. Then there was some work done on the laundry, the cleaning of breakfast dishes, vacuuming, and getting the dinner in the crock pot. Why all the work you ask? It is Dave's "official" birthday today. Considering his "real" birthday only happens every four years! Yep. A leap year baby! Last year we celebrated a real birthday. We've only had a few of those in our married years. He was really only like five when we got married. The kids think that's funny, but don't really understand.

We were going to go bowling with Dave's parents and some of his siblings, but we ended up just watching a movie at our house and eating dinner. I made Hawaiian haystacks for dinner, with fresh rolls, and a German chocolate cake that I made from a box. All of which was accomplished this morning!

A Pretty Fun Day!

So yesterday the boys were both being so cute! Braxton was having a friend over after school and he kept saying all morning "I've been dying for Brian !" It as pretty funny, but I did tell him that he probably shouldn't say that, he should say he's been dying for him to come over. Maybe I shouldn't have corrected him, but I didn't like the way him dying over a boy sounded!

When I went to preschool to pick up Cole one of the other kids moms was commenting on how she loves that Cole runs everywhere! She thinks it's funny that he doesn't walk. It made me realize he doesn't walk! He is constantly running. I told her he is just practicing so he can run from me when I'm trying to put him in time out! Lol.

When I woke up yesterday morning our internet was not working at all. Dave came home to try and fix it and also to study for a big test he had last night. Dave, being computer savvy fixed it pretty quick. After I picked up Cole,he came home and wanted to play with something we didn't want him to. So Dave took it out and hid it in the van so he couldn't get to it. This in turn made Cole mad, so he stormed away upstairs. He had tucked away with some crayons and wanted to lay down, so I tried to get him to come in my room and watch a movie while I was laying down. He said no, that he wanted the portable dvd player in the hall and he would watch one there. I gave in and set it up for him, then went and laid down. I heard him go down and get in the fridge. Then I heard the kitchen sink running. He came back upstairs and informed me he had gotten hungry and got an apple. He had to of course wash it first because mom doesn't let them eat it any other way! Then he decided he wanted a blanket. He had to get it himself. Then, he went and got his pillow. He was now laying in the hall all decked out with a movie and all the works. I was back and forth helping him so I never got a nap! It was really cute though.

Then over dinner Cole continued to be cute! No one saw this so the following story may not be true! He was telling me of this time he was at the neighbors and him and the neighbors little girl were jumping on the bed. He said they were hugging and then she kissed him! She's only three and adorable! He was quick to say no one saw. I can't tell if he just likes her and is dreaming or if it really happened, considering "no one saw!"

Another Day....

The life of a mother. It just took an hour and a half to get two kids to bed. What makes them scared some nights and perfectly normal another? Why do they have to throw a tantrum when you leave the playground, as people watch you carry them out kicking and screaming? Why do they always assume that when it's a friend's birthday it automatically means they get a present for themselves also? And as you say no you once again get to carry them out kicking and screaming, while others watch wondering what you could have done to make someone so little so mad! Then to realize it's all in a day's work! You think that after this many years the manual would be written and you would know your kids, but it is always changing just like fashion. I hope to look back and laugh someday, but for today I'm just glad they are almost asleep.

Some of you know and some of you don't, that we just finished our first round of fertility drugs. In a little less than a week we will find out if it worked or not. Some days I think we are crazy for wanting more. Two is all we can handle most of the time. Sometimes they are so sweet though and you wonder why you don't have any more. They can be the most rewarding thing or most difficult thing in your life.

Braxton and Cole I love you. When your kids are like this someday I will just laugh at you and tell them thank-you for giving back!

Bedtime!!!

This is the best part of the night! Kids in bed, time to ourselves. Thinking of picking up or washing a dish, but just wanting to sit back and watch your favorite show, or do nothing because you can. Hoping that the kids will stay in their rooms and not come out cause they heard a weird noise, or something of the sorts.

Today was my day to volunteer in Braxton's class. I love going in even though it means that I have to put off getting something done to be there. He loves it when I come and that will be more important years from now, than if I got one more load of laundry done. It's fun to be with him and his peers. It's amazing how in just an hour a week you can get to know every kid by their name and face, and you can tell what kind of kid they are through their questions, and just their response to what is going on.

My kids are going to be old before I know what hit me! My baby is almost five and it seems like just yesterday I brought him into the world.

So needless to say, is my house clean yet? No. Did I shampoo the carpet where Cole dumped chocolate milk on it this morning? No. Will I remember a month from now that I didn't clean things right away today? No. Please, no visitors soon! Not for a few years, until I can figure out how to keep the house spotless all the time, and the laundry done! Lol.

Cole's Fieldtrip!

Today I went with Cole on his preschool field trip. Why is it called a field trip? We aren't visiting a field. Any hoo, the place we went to is called the treehouse museum. It was a big play area with a treehouse in the middle. There were different activities all over that involve different cultures, different times, etc. The kids had a lot of fun.

While we were there I was taking pictures and realized that there is a line in the middle of the camera that has gone out. Needless to say I thought it was just on the screen, but downloading them just now I realized that it is in every picture and I'm SO mad!!!! I've hated this camera since we got it last year and I'm hoping that the replacement plan will let us just get a different one all together. Stupid electronics! Lol.

We got quite a bit of snow again today. In fact it snowed from first thing this morning, until 4 this afternoon. I got to shovel again! Whoo hoo!!! I didn't have to shovel too much though because the maintenance guy plowed almost right up next to the van. Thanks Jon! Cole helped me shovel the rest. They haven't bothered to plow our neighborhood though. It's a little hard to get through, but oh well I guess.

I've been having these stupid migraines lately that won't go away! Needless to say our house is so dirty! No visitors please. The embarrassment alone would kill me!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I know it's a day late, but I hope you all had a great day yesterday. Dave let me have the whole day off and I spent it all shopping! He stayed home and helped clean and kept the boys. It was a much needed break. We got quite a bit of snow in the morning. The boys got to help shovel and they also made a snowman.

Today we decided to go to Logan to visit Dave's family. The boys are having so much fun!

Last Night......

So last night a little after 10 p.m. I heard someone try to open the front door twice. I thought that Dave was just home from school. I looked out the peep hole and saw a car out front. I couldn't figure out why Dave would try to get in and then get back in his car. So I went outside and realized it wasn't Dave, it was a police car. I walked out further and saw another police car after that one. However no cops in sight. I stood out there for a few minutes to see if I could see where they were at. They didn't come out so I went to our room and watched out the window. They had been around the corner. Why? I don't know.

Anyways Dave came home and couldn't park out front because they were there. I told him when they left so he could move the car from the parking lot next door. He came back in with a huge flower arrangement! The flowers were in a container that was set inside of a large bowl and inside the large bowl chocolates surrounded the flowers! It was gorgeous. I was completely surprised.

Thanks Dave I love you!!!!

Any advice?

So I decided to change the template of our blog. However in doing so I lost all the pictures and such I had added onto the side. If anyone can tell me how to do it without losing stuff I'd love to hear!

Weather, weather, weather!

So it has rained a majority of the weekend and snowed some today. Cole has been funny today. I have still had a headache and while I was resting on the couch he made himself several types of drinks. First being from the gas station and it was coke with cherry syrup. Then he tried chocolate milk. Then a glass with hot cocoa mix almost to the top brim. Then he got a dr.pepper and wanted to drink that too! Needless to say he has made quite the mess with all the drink mixes!

I have also received an email from a close friend about a horrible accident her husband was in. He fell more than 20 feet in a warehouse and has several injuries. I will pass on the request that we pray for him and a good recovery.

Hope you are all doing well. We miss you all and love you!

Fun filled day!

Cole gettin’ dirty!

Boys, boys, boys!

Aren't we silly looking!

Um...

Well after a fun day playing with friends, the boys had a pretty cool babysitter! They were excited for grandpa to come and have been watching movies with him in the dark. Dinner was great and it was nice to get away. An early valentine's because going out next weekend would just be crazy!

Date Night!

I can't wait for tonight. Dave's dad is coming down to watch the boys so we can go out to dinner by ourselves!

Ahhh....

Ahhhh..... another day. Dave has been at school all day studying! I'm glad I'm not. The boys have been bored due to a migraine. Dr. pepper doesn't even work. The weather here is yucky. Rain, rain, and more rain. We look forward to the weekend as it is our time to actually see eachother and spend time together.

Those of you out there who have kids, have you ever noticed how when you go to the store for a friends birthday present that you can't come home without a toy for the kid who's picking out the present? Then Cole was crying for an hour later in the day on how he wanted that toy for his brother and that now we needed to go back and get one that's for him! I didn't fall for that one. I'm so mean I just let him cry. He played with the toy for hours and then when he was bored, he was trying to sucker me in to buying something else. Sorry Cole.

So many thoughts.....

I have been so bad over the years at keeping my family and friends posted on our lives. I have a good friend that talks about blogs and I decided what the heck and have made one up! It is fun and I look forward to sharing and creating memories with all of you. I am far from home. Most of you we don't see near often enough, some of you it has been years, others during times of sorrow. We are here.... Through everything our thoughts will always be with you and now this site will keep us together. I hope that all of you reading this are well and that life is treating you well. I also hope you enjoy!

Today

Today was a good day. Daddy is at school tonight taking a test. We went to McDonald's playland with our neighbor friend Logan. The three boys had so much fun! Mommy is anxious that it's the boys bedtime so she can have some "mommy" time.

So Funny!

Hello! So I haven't written for a few days and this isn't totally up yet but on Sunday Braxton said something very funny. We asked him what he wanted for dinner and he said, we can't go to stores on Sunday so lets order pizza and have it delivered!

The first time.

So this is my first time for my blog! Be patient with me and I will try to catch up soon.
